Dear Mayor Fisher,
We are a forming a group of concerned Pompano Beach Florida residents to monitor the
misdeeds, unauthorized inspections, & violations committed by the city of Pompano
Beach code enforcement(s) outsourced staffing agency officers of Calvin, Giordano &
Associates, We are sending you this letter so the city leaders are aware of the
abuse of power, harassment and resentment that the code compliance team Calvin,
Giordano & Associates are causing in the community with their interpretation and
misuse of the codes and so called violations and how they obtain said violation(s)
information, They are supposed to help and serve the residents and community, not
create animosity, anger and fear by their SWAT team like tactics, threats, sweeps
and their over the edge enforcement of code compliance and violations, which are
supposed to be at a minimum standard & the clear 4th Amendment violations by the
code enforcement officers entering onto private properties without authorization.
Unfortunately, they establish their own minimum standards and write violations in
volume because there is no established or accepted standard for comparison, and it
seems there is very little supervision or control by the city over their activities
and abuses, and the so called code enforcement sweeps are just causing more
harassment, anger and resentment toward the city in general.
We would like to know how many sweeps and violations the original Pompano Beach code
enforcement dept wrote compared to Calvin, Giordano & Associates ?
We are astonished that the city officials would tolerate and condone these abuses
against their own citizens, The city should immediately cancel Calvin, Giordano & Associates contract,
rescind all current violations, and reassess code policies and practices, and hire people who actually
live within the city of Pompano Beach Florida, to work with their own community and its residents, the RULES
for ALL city employees should apply for every branch of the city government & all civil servants, just as
it does for you Mr Mayor.
